Being an authorized International Baccalaureate World School, SIS is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). SIS offers a comprehensive and inspiring experience, where students also can benefit from SIS's long-time affiliation with the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS) and the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS).

Located in the heart of Shekou, SIS was established in 1988 as the first international school in Shenzhen and will be welcoming a significant 35-year milestone in 2023. As its Head of School, Harish Kanabar, remarked: "SIS is synonymous with the growth and development of Shenzhen. As the first International school in this beautiful city, we have grown and made our mark in this community much the way Shenzhen has done across the world."
